These results mark the best June sales since 1985. ”We were the largest manufacturer of vehicles in Canada in 2014 and with the $2 billion investment in our Windsor Assembly Plant and new minivan program, the future of Canada’s #1 selling minivan has never looked brighter,” said Dave Buckingham, Chief Operating Officer, FCA Canada. Sales Highlights The Ram brand reported 9,081 trucks sold for the month. Looking specifically at Ram pickup truck sales within the full Ram brand line-up, there were 8,526 sold in June 2015, compared with 7,251 trucks sold in June 2014. These results represent an 18 per cent year-over-year increase and mark a June sales record for both the Ram brand and Ram pickup trucks. Ram continues as “King of the Hill” in the heavy-duty battleground with the introduction of the 2016 model year Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty pickups. The capability leaders further build on a list of best-in-class claims for power, towing capacity and payload capacity. Additionally, for two years running, the Ram 1500 leads pickup truck fuel economy with the exclusive 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine, delivering 240 horsepower, 420 lb.-ft. of torque and as good as 8 L/100km (35 mpg) highway. The Jeep brand set a June sales record in 2015 with 6,931 vehicles, compared with 6,817 sold in June 2014. These results mark the 16th month of consecutive year-over year sales gains for the Jeep Brand. Jeep Cherokee continues to flourish within the mid-size SUV segment with 2,361 sales, which is an increase of 3 per cent from 2,286 reported in June 2014. Jeep Cherokee offers superior on-road ride and handling with an industry-first, class-exclusive 9-speed automatic transmission. Looking at passenger car sales, Dodge Challenger had a phenomenal month with the sale of 326 vehicles. These results represent an increase of 149 per cent, compared with 131 sold in June 2014. The Brampton-built Chrysler 300 and Dodge Challenger were recently ranked highest in the Large Car and Midsize Sporty Car segments in J.D. Power and Associates’ 2015 U.S. Initial Quality StudySM (IQS). With the Windsor Assembly Plant retooling project complete and employees back to building the world-class Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans, an increase of 14 per cent in minivan sales was reported in June 2015 with 6,186 minivans sold, compared with the same results from June 2014, when 5,420 minivans were sold.
